Franchise News Release: Sacramento, CA - (Nov-11-2002) WeGoShop Expands NationwideAs big name grocers try to corner the market for online grocery shopping, a growing yet lesser-known company called WeGoShop.com is quietly beefing up its instant-gratification business and has begun to take its business model across the U.S. The 4-year-old personalized grocery shopping and home delivery company has already started to expand their presence from their home area in Sacramento, California to other areas nationwide. The company offers what they call "Mini-Franchises" to entrepreneur minded individuals, who are willing to follow the business model of their website and without having to pay typical Franchise fees. Currently the WeGoShop.com service is operating in five states, California, Colorado, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida. "We know that the need and the want for our service is out there. On a daily basis we get emails from people all over who are eager for us to come to their town or city to start delivering groceries for them," says Jason Linton, owner of the growing company. The on and offline company's personal shoppers deliver everything from eggs to toilet paper to their customers, for a modest shop and delivery fee. "WeGoShop.com is not an internet flash in the pan," says Linton. "This is a business that has battled through and survived the increasing competition of grocery delivery services on a local level, without having to rely on investments from outside sources. We just feel that it's now time to expand our horizons, build name brand recognition and service other areas." It appears that WeGoShop.com has found a niche in the grocery delivery market, by offering their customers the option to order from the grocery store of their choice by phone or over the internet. "We would like for WeGoShop.com to become a household, brand name and we want our customers to know that just because we have a dot com name, that they do not need to have internet access to place an order." The elderly citizens and those without internet access typically call in their grocery order by phone, but the company has seen a significant increase of orders being placed online. From 1999 to 2001, WeGoShop.com was a virtually unknown local shop and delivery company with modest ambitions. It was founded by Linton, who thought of the idea while in a mood of not feeling motivated enough to go grocery shopping for himself, after working countless hours of overtime for his previous employer, wishing there were a service he could call on. In the amount of time WeGoShop.com has been around, it has learned a few things that have allowed it to thrive while rivals have foundered. "Personalization and quality customer service is key. We don't just drop off groceries, collect payment and go on our way, we allow ourselves to take extra time to chat or put groceries away or both. It's important that the customer knows that we are more of a quality and service focused company than anything." |
