7-Eleven Reports Continued Strong Sales for November

7-Eleven, Inc. reported total merchandise sales for November 2002 were $582.0 million, an increase of 4.7 percent over the November 2001 total of $555.8 million. U.S. same-store merchandise sales for November 2002 increased 3.8 percent, on top of a 7.8 percent increase in November 2001.

Gasoline sales for November 2002 were $245.7 million, a 32.1 percent increase compared to $186.0 million in the prior-year period. Average gallons sold per store increased 7.4 percent in November 2002 compared to the November 2001 result. The average retail price of gasoline for November 2002 was $1.47, compared to $1.21 in November 2001.

Year-to-Date Results

The following results compare year-to-date results through November 2002 to the same period last year:

• Merchandise sales total $6,700.9 million, an increase of 4.0 percent.
• U.S. same-store merchandise sales have increased 3.2 percent, on top of a 5.1 percent increase for 2001.
• Gasoline sales total $2,586.6 million, an increase of 0.1 percent.
• Average gasoline gallons sold per store month have grown 4.8 percent.
