Red Mango Announces Major Expansion for Tri-State Area


Red Mango, one of the most popular and fastest-growing retailers of authentic nonfat frozen yogurt, has announced its inaugural Franchise Recruitment Seminars will take place in New York at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on May 4 at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers at 811 7th Avenue. The events support the large influx of interest the company has received from first time business entrepreneurs and existing/multiple-concept franchisees inquiring about the brand.

The New York seminars, the first in a national series of events, were designed to offer an opportunity to learn about Red Mango franchising. The events will provide an outlet to meet face-to-face with Red Mango executives through a presentation, product tasting and question/answer period. The company currently has 11 stores in New York and believes the Tri-State region, specifically New York’s Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Brooklyn, Queens, North Jersey and Cambridge, Mass. can support many additional locations.

“The New York area has already embraced the Red Mango concept,” said James Franks, vice president of franchising. “Several of our locations in the city are top performers in the Red Mango system and we look forward to meeting investors and business owners who are as passionate about the brand as we are.”

Red Mango recently announced record franchise growth for the first quarter of 2009, signing development agreements with new and existing franchisees to open 128 stores. Last week the company unveiled its “Red’s Real Deal” program which states that Red Mango will purchase a new franchisee’s store for up to $275,000 and take over the franchised location if the franchisee if not satisfied with the investment within the first six months of opening. The program is available in 25 states, including New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts
