Franchise News Release: Pittsburgh, PA - (Nov-13-2002) Ranch 1 Opens at Pittsburgh International AirportThe AIRMALL® has another tasty addition to its flock of 40-plus eateries. Ranch 1, home of "The Best Grilled Chicken Sandwich on Earth," has opened its first Restaurant in the state, a locally owned franchise, at the Pittsburgh International Airport today. The upscale quick-service chain specializes in freshly grilled, marinated chicken breast sandwiches -- an appealing choice for consumers. The first Ranch 1 opened in 1990 in New York City, next door to The Late Show with David Letterman. Today, 50 units and growing, new stores will be cropping up next in California, Connecticut, New York, and Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. In less than a New York minute, hungry travelers at the AIRMALL® can dive into a variety of specially prepared dishes. And they can eat with gusto. The centerpiece of Ranch 1's menu is premium quality boneless, skinless chicken breast. The signature Ranch Classic is chicken flame-grilled to perfection and topped with gourmet greens, featuring radicchio, watercress, toasted almonds, and roasted red-pepper sauce, served on a fresh-baked semolina roll. A healthy alternative to conventional fast foods, the nutritional content of Ranch 1's menu offerings is spelled out in point-of- sale literature. "Our customers want a variety of convenient, healthy, delicious foods," says Jay Kruisselbrink, Vice President of BAA Pittsburgh, Inc., developer and manager of the AIRMALL®. "Ranch 1 delivers on all counts. It is a perfect addition to our food and beverage program, and it's sure to be a hit with passengers." Beyond the Ranch Classic, the 488-square-foot eatery offers a stable of `hot off the open grill' dishes: American Rancher, flame-grilled chicken, dressed with tomato, lettuce, pickles and American cheese; Chicken Philly, flame-grilled chicken, melted Mozzarella topped with sauteed peppers and onions; Zesty Chicken Caesar, flame-grilled chicken, romaine lettuce tossed with Parmesan cheese in a creamy dressing, topped with garlic croutons; Chicken Fajita, flame-grilled chicken with cheese, tomato and onion wrapped in a grilled flour tortilla; and Teriyaki Chicken Bowl, flamed-grilled chicken tossed in rice seasoned with Teriyaki dressing, are among the selections. Located in the main food court in the airside terminal, the restaurant is open 24 hours, 365 days to serve travelers. Travelers can also take advantage of the convenience of take-out through AIRMALL® To-Go. When it comes to dining in airports, Pittsburgh International Airport ranks among the world's top facilities. A new study of 46 major airports by J.D. Power and Associates places Pittsburgh second only to Singapore for outstanding food and beverage service. The AIRMALL® has also been recognized by the American Dietetic Association, Plog Research, Inc., and the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine for the variety of healthy food choices. |
