Pizza Patron Expands in Dallas (6/03)

Antonio Swad announced today that Pizza Patrón has signed a development agreement with Brian Mitts and Maury Purnell to open five Pizza Patrón restaurants in Dallas.

Their broker, Marsha Schneider of RTS Real Estate Services, has begun the site selection process and is currently in negotiation for the first location.

Purnell has owned several franchised concepts and Mitts, an experienced restaurateur, owns three Texadelphia restaurants.

"I noticed that several of my Hispanic employees would routinely bring in Pizza Patrón boxes for dinner," said Mitts. "I was very impressed with their loyalty to the brand and decided to look into the Franchise further."

Pizza Patrón was founded by Antonio Swad, 17 years ago. In January, he sold the Wingstop chain, one of the nation's fastest growing franchises, ranked number five on Entrepreneur Magazine's Top 25 Franchises list. Since, he has been focused on taking Pizza Patrón to a national presence through franchise distribution. In March he opened the new corporate office to begin offering franchises.

Pizza Patrón features festive and fun carryout-only pizza stores that are community based in Spanish speaking or predominately Hispanic neighborhoods. The menu is value oriented, offering high quality, freshly prepared pizzas at very low price points. All pizza dough is made fresh throughout the evening; no preservatives are added or needed. The sauce is prepared fresh in the stores, as well, from crushed Roma tomatoes. Only 100% mzzarella is used. Whole and half pizzas are offered at prices as low as $4.99 for a large pizza with cheese and one topping and $3.49 for the same half pizza. A large deluxe pizza with everything is only $6.99.
