Papa Gino's Inc. names Michael McManama Vice President of marketing (7/03)

Papa Gino's Inc., parent of the Papa Gino's Pizza and D'Angelo Sandwich Shops Restaurant chains, announced today that Michael McManama has been named vice president of marketing, reporting to Senior Vice President of Brand and Product Development Lew Shaye. In this position, McManama will develop and execute marketing strategies that enhance both the D'Angelo and Papa Gino's brands.

McManama has an extensive background in the areas of communication, strategic planning, business development and brand management and positioning. Before coming to Papa Gino's, he spent three years as senior vice president of strategic marketing and planning for Devine & Pearson Communications, based in Quincy, Mass., and a year as managing partner for Millennium Lifestyle Marketing Group, also based in Quincy. Earlier in his career, he spent 14 years in brand management, sales management and product development positions at Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc., and six years with dairy producer HP Hood, Inc., in a variety of marketing and sales positions.

"Mike has a distinguished record of deploying creative and dynamic consumer and business marketing programs," says Shaye. "His perspective and experience will be tremendously valuable to our organization as we look to increase popularity and unit growth of our restaurants throughout New England and move into new markets."

In spearheading new marketing efforts for Papa Gino's, McManama said he will "work towards the creation of unique brand strategies and differentiated brand positions to carry the company into the future and meet the needs of the ever-changing consumer."

McManama holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College and a Masters of Business Administration from Suffolk University. He will be based in the company's Dedham headquarters.
