About Papa Gino's and D'Angelo Sandwich Shops Papa Gino's Inc., is the parent company of Papa Gino's Pizza and D'Angelo Sandwich Shops. The Papa Gino's pizza chain began nearly 40 years ago as a single East Boston pizza shop, Piece O' Pizza. Built on authentic Italian recipes brought over when founder Michael Valerio's family sailed from Italy to Boston in 1936, the Papa Gino's menu has been refined through the years but is still based on the same simple philosophy of quality in the food, quality in the experience of customers and quality in the experience people have working at Papa Gino's restaurants or corporate headquarters. In 1968, the name changed to Papa Gino's and the company began expanding throughout New England. Papa Gino's currently operates 180 restaurants in five New England states and plans to open 200 more in the next five years. The D'Angelo brand was established in 1967 by a former affiliate, D'Angelo, Inc., which operated corporately owned restaurants. Franchise opportunities have been available via predecessors since 1988. There are currently 216 D'Angelo Sandwich Shops in operation as standalone units and in tandem with Papa Gino's. D'Angelo Sandwich Shop Franchise Opportunities are currently available throughout New England, Long Island and upstate New York for qualifying investors with a minimum net worth of $400,000, including $70,000 in liquid assets. |
