Mr. Electric Names Veteran Franchise Executive Rick Cross As President

Mr. Electric®, a subsidiary of The Dwyer Group [NASDAQ:DWYR] and the world's largest electrical service and repair franchise, has announced the appointment of veteran Franchise executive Rick Cross as president, effective today. Cross succeeds Tom Buckley, CFO of The Dwyer Group, who served as interim president since 1999. Buckley's role within The Dwyer Group's management has been expanded, necessitating the hiring of a new president.

Accepting the top spot at Mr. Electric is a homecoming for Cross, who worked for several of The Dwyer Group's subsidiary companies from 1991-1998. During those years, Cross served as vice president of marketing, executive vice president, chief operating officer and president of Mr. Rooter Corp. He also was president of Mr. Appliance, 1997-1998; and chief operating officer of Aire Serv and Mr. Electric, 1995-1997.

In 1999, Cross was named president of Marble Renewal, based in Little Rock, Ark. He returned to Texas as executive vice president of MarbleLife, in Dallas, from 2000-2002.
