Franchise News Release: London, - (Aug-2-2002) Lucious Low Fat Franchise to Expand Outside the UKLuscious Low Fat - the UK's first chain of decadent and indulgent low fat cafes including low fat café and Restaurant models for health club chains, leisure centres and health farms chains has announced it is offering a deal to license or Franchise the concept to operators in other parts of the world including the USA, Australia, Japan and all other parts of to world. "In particular we're looking for a franchise or license co-ordinator... a joint alliance to make luscious low fat and our second concept luscious organic go global. We already have the modules, training manuals, recpes, products, kit etc we just need expertise in licensing or franchising." The concept was the brainchild of two Australian journalists who came to the UK and could not get a skinny latte or low fat muffin and so set up a high street café. Publicity and consumer interest, in the light of the fact the UK has the highest obesity rate second to the USA meant many interested parties from around the world-expressed interest. "At that point we were not ready to licence the model. Now after opening 8 units including units in clubS and another within London Underground (subway or train station as it may be known overseas) and on the high street and refining the concept to a restaurant model and a mini café concession which offers low fat snacks, sandwiches, meals, salads, a range of freshly squeezed juices and espresso based coffees including Soya cinos, plus a café model for high street use and a hole in the wall train station unit we feel the time is right to offer up licensing deals," said Alison. "Our point of difference is 'Luscious Low Fat' - decadence and indulgence without the guilt, and our first book published by Random House sold out in 3 weeks with thousands of people rushing to buy a book which made low fat cooking easy, fun and delicious and above all decandent. Key to our models are corporate branding - staff in uniforms with name badges, training manuals, H and S training, management training, recipes, menu outlines, information flyers, access to a website and a license deal which shows people exactly how to set up a unit, what kit to purchase and how to sell the concept to customers and the press. Above all our key is quality service, quality product and a focus on a corporate approach often neglected in health club catering facilities, or other cafés and in house catering." The license deal also offers the juice recipes and advice on correct juicing kit and maintenance, staff training and customer service, customer feedback analysis, rotating menus, correct hygiene codes and recording devices, supplier identification, logo use and branding, uniforms, how to handle cash controls and accounting and how to grow the business under license in a structure which gives control and access while being affordable. Luscious says their concept is "fully baked" in a low fat version of course, and allows people who have wanted to set up a café based around healthy living or for health clubs eager to solve the catering issue or for corporate buildings needing to provide a quality café service to use the model. "When we set up the low fat cafes it took months to get information, to find suppliers, develop recipes, training guides, find the right kit or in some cases the wrong kit. Without any guidance or help it was a nightmare and because we are ex journalists we knew how to get the right information but many people who are great at selling and running a unit need assistance with concepts, recipes, design, logo, manuals etc. We have now got it down to a science and feel on a global scale this will offer many small business people or large operators looking for diversification a unique chance to implement a concept easily and quickly." Guidance of the 2 founders Alison Rose and Tony Guy (ex Australian TV anchors who came here with an idea and after 3 and a half years ago and who also operate a second chain Luscious Organic) is part of the licensing deal with assistance in value adding to the license operation with a back up kit for PR and promotional ideas. This means you get help when you need it and a unique database to help you solve problems. "Back-up is vital and we will provide that." Around the world consumers are looking for quality service, decadent low fat product, and great freshly squeezed juices and a range of meals and sandwiches in one place. Research shows that most people detest having to go to one store for juice, another for a coffee and a third for a sandwich. Our operation and models can fit anywhere from a small unit of 250sq foot suitable for a subway or train station to a café or to a café or restaurant for 60 seats or more or as part of a health club or healthy living centre. The license deal is available on a range of levels it can be done for one town, one state, one country, as a corporate entity buy. This makes it available for a small business operator to a bigger company looking to diversify or value add or solve a problem with catering. Due to interest time is critical so we advise any expressions of interest are made immediately. |
