FORMER McDONALD’S EXECUTIVE JOINS FRANCHISE CONSULTING FIRM

The iFranchise Group announced today that Burton D. Cohen, retired Senior Vice President and Chief Franchising Officer of McDonald's Corporation, has joined the firm in a consulting role. 

Before joining the iFranchise Group, which provides a broad range of consulting services to existing and start-up Franchise organizations, Burt Cohen was with McDonald's for 35 years.

Prior to assuming responsibility for franchising, Mr. Cohen was McDonald’s Assistant General Counsel and Director of the corporate legal department. For the next 19 years as Chief Franchising Officer, he was responsible for overseeing McDonald's franchising activities worldwide.

Mr. Cohen is an Adjunct Professor of Management and Strategy at Northwestern University 's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.  His credentials also include serving on the Boards of Directors of several public and private companies. As a franchising authority, he has lectured widely to various organizations, including the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, the Practicing Law Institute, and the International franchise Association. He has served as Vice Chair of the Franchise Relations Committee for the IFA, is a Franchise Mediator with CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution and is a member of the American Bar Association's Forum Committee on Franchising. He has also been named to Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in American Law.

A Chicago native, Mr. Cohen received his undergraduate degree in Business and Economics from The Illinois Institute of Technology and his Juris Doctor degree from Northwestern University School of Law.
