Franchise News Release: Las Cruces, NM - (May-27-2004) Gotcha Covered -- From Butcher to Window Fashion DesignerBill Denney was a career butcher serving Las Cruces for 32 years until corporate downsizing forced him into a new career. Now he is going to serve up grade A prime window fashion products as a franchisee for one of the nations largest home-based window fashion franchisors, “Gotcha Covered”. “I can tell you everything there is to know about beef,” states Denney. “Most people don’t realize that it takes about four years to master every aspect of that field.” Now, he is abandoning that career for cuts of blinds, shutters and custom curtains. Once Denney qualified to purchase an exclusive territory for his new career and business, he was off to Dallas for the beginning of an initial 19-week training program that is included in his initial Franchise fee. The first two weeks take him through every aspect of running a window fashion business including, product knowledge, managing a home-based business and promoting a diverse product line. Upon graduation, he takes delivery of a new “Roving Office” a panel van equipped with 106 sample books of all the name brands he now represents, Hunter Douglas, Levolor, Graber, Kirsch and others. “I was a little nervous about what to expect on the first day of training into a completely different profession, but those reservations quickly went away as their training got underway. It was all put in very simple logical steps for me to incorporate into my new business back home.” The new franchisee will return to Las Cruces to begin building his new window fashion business. Denney will be assigned a company business development manager to assist him daily through the start-up period. “We don’t take chances with the success of our franchisees,” states Michael Rose, founder and general manager of “Gotcha Covered.” “Each one of our new members is taken slowly through the learning process allowing them to focus specifically on a limited number of potential profit centers for immediate income. During the next sixteen weeks we dole these profits centers out gradually not to overwhelm them.” All new “Gotcha Covered” franchisees return to Dallas for a special 19 th week training program on the soft-goods side of the fashion business. Each will be given additional sample books and training which will allow them to open up new profit centers featuring draperies, bedspreads, pillow shams and various other products to add to their existing lines. About “Gotcha Covered” “Gotcha Covered”, is headquartered in Carrollton, Texas, and is ranked the #2 franchise in its category by Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500.
