FORTUNE Small Business Magazine Ranks The Dwyer Group Among America's 100 Fastest-Growing Small Businesses

The Dwyer Group (Nasdaq:DWYR) has been named one of America's 100 Fastest-Growing Small Businesses, according to a recent announcement by FSB: FORTUNE Small Business magazine. The magazine's second annual list of the 100 Fastest-Growing publicly held small businesses in America will hit newsstands on July 1, featuring The Dwyer Group at #65.

"Being recognized by FORTUNE Small Business is a huge honor," said Dina Dwyer-Owens, president and CEO of The Dwyer Group. "We had an amazing year of growth in 2001, and our strength continues to shine. The Dwyer Group's focus on profits despite the struggling economy has really paid off."

FSB reported that the current economic conditions made it difficult to make this year's list. In an article by Andrew Rafalaf entitled "The Tough Get Growing," the 2002 all-stars defied the odds not only by surviving in business, but thriving as well. Combined, the companies on the list produced just over $1 billion in net income in 2001.

FSB, in conjunction with Zachs Investment Research, narrowed the search to companies with annual sales of $200 million or less that traded on a major exchange at a stock price of $1 or more. Judging America's fastest-growing small companies was then based on three key areas: earnings growth, revenue growth, and total stock return, including dividends, for the past three years.

The Dwyer Group reported a 36 percent increase in pre-tax income for 2001. Revenues for 2001 increased 16 percent to $22.4 million from $19.2 million in 2000.
