Franchise News Release: Waco, TX - (Apr-22-2002) Dwyer Group Opens New Training Center on Corporate Campus, Showcases Franchisees' Talent in Construction and DesignWhen The Dwyer Group (NASDAQ: DWYR) went shopping for the best businesses to assist in the construction and design of its new 5,000 square foot training center on the corporate campus, it often looked no further than the Franchise owners of its subsidiary companies. "We wanted the best for this job," said Dina Dwyer-Owens, president and CEO of The Dwyer Group. "And some of the very best businesses are in our own family of companies." Jack Pruitt, franchise owner of Mr. Rooter, in Waco, Texas, was in charge of the plumbing and sprinkler system. Mike Muhlman, franchise owner of Mr. Electric, in Waco, handled all electrical needs. Kelvin Rogers, franchise owner of Aire Serv Heating and Air Conditioning, in Fort Worth, installed the HVAC system. Tony Brenner, franchise owner of Rainbow International in Fort Worth, ordered and installed the carpet. Also, Sandy Shofner, franchise owner of Mr. Appliance, in Waco, installed many of the appliances. John Roberie, franchise owner of Glass Doctor, in Waco, installed mirrors in the new gym. And Lynn Monson, franchise owner of DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen, in St. Louis Park, Minn., handled the interior design of the kitchen. All of the franchisees were paid the regular rates for the job. "One of our key messages is that quality work deserves a quality price," Dwyer-Owens said. "And this is no exception." Dwyer-Owens said the training center is a validation of the services from all of The Dwyer Group's subsidiaries. "When people come for training at our corporate campus, this new training center will showcase the great abilities of our many companies." The training center, which staff and employees refer to as a lodge in design, features state-of-the-art audio-visual functions with two large projection screens, and touch pad remote controls of sound and lighting. The decor of the center is Southwestern in nature, and a large stone fireplace greets visitors at the entry. The meeting space is flexible to accommodate 180 people in a large classroom, or it can be divided into smaller rooms for various subsidiaries to hold training simultaneously. The showroom-style kitchen is equally user-friendly to prepare meals and serve to guests. Thousands of people travel to Waco from around the world each year for training at the Dwyer Group's corporate headquarters. "We hold classes for new franchise owners, advanced training for existing franchise owners, special international meetings for our master licensees, and more," Dwyer-Owens said. "Our new training center will get plenty of use." About The Dwyer Group: |
