Choice Hotels Acquires Remaining Interest in Flag Choice Hotels

Choice Hotels International announced it has acquired the remaining 45% iterest in Melbourne-based Flag Choice Hotels from Flag International Limited bringing its ownership of its Australian subsidiary to 100%.

"Our additional investment reinforces Choice Hotels' commitment to Flag Choice Hotels and to our licensee partners in the Asia Pacific region," said Bruce Haase, senior vice president, international.

"Choice has significantly accelerated the growth of Choice brands in Australia by converting many high quality Flag brand properties to the Clarion, Quality and Comfort brands," Haase continued. "These conversions have strengthened our presence in the Pacific and with more than 400 properties, Flag Choice Hotels is the largest hospitality franchisor in the region."

Choice Hotels International is one of the world's largest lodging franchisors, marketing more than 5,000 hotels open or under development in 39 countries under the Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Clarion, Sleep Inn, MainStay Suites, Econo Lodge, and Rodeway Inn brand names.
