Zoom Room Hosts ‘Yappy Hour’ for Working Dogs and Owners

While employers begin preparing their offices for Take Your Dog to Work Day™, dogs and their two-legged companions have only one thing on their mind – what to do after a long day at the office. On Friday, June 24, 2011, the Zoom Room® will celebrate Take Your Dog to Work Day by hosting six after-work Yappy Hour parties benefitting local animal welfare organizations nationwide.

Each year, thousands of businesses open their doors to employees’ four-legged friends allowing canines to act as co-workers on Take Your Dog to Work Day. The Zoom Room, which specializes in dog agility training and the social aspect of dog ownership, will host Yappy Hour parties featuring refreshments for humans and canines, and a six-city Doggy Disco® party with music programming provided exclusively for the Zoom Room by Michaelangelo L’Acqua, global music director for W Hotels Worldwide.

“We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the human-canine bond while rewarding owners and their pets for ‘working like dogs’ alongside their very own,” said Mark Van Wye, the Zoom Room’s Chief Operating Officer. “The Yappy Hour parties are an excellent way for dogs and their owners to socialize in an energetic environment while having fun, which is the core of our business.”

Each Yappy Hour party will begin at 5 p.m. local time with last call at 8 p.m. Admission is $10 per dog and the Zoom Room will donate 100 percent of the admission fees to local animal welfare organizations. Humans and canines interested in attending their local Yappy Hour are encouraged to RSVP in advance.
