Wingstop Executives To Judge Chile Pepper Magazine's Fiery Food Challenge (12/00)

Wingstop Restaurants, known for their unique chicken wing flavors, will send two representatives to be judges in Chile Pepper Magazine's annual Fiery Food Challenge taking place December 11-13 in Fort Worth. Antonio Swad, founder, and Rex Heckelman, manager/operato r of the corporate Wingstop store, will participate as judges in the national contest. The contest involves more than 350 products of well over 100 spice and seasoning companies. There are 48 categories including: the hottest beverage, marinade, packaging, salsa, and many others. The winners from each category will receive media coverage, the "Golden Chile" award, and promotional labeling for their products.

"Having a representative from Wingstop as a judge was a logical choice," said Rhonda Litsey, National Advertising Consultant of Chile Pepper Magazine. "When you think of spicy foods, you think of chicken wings and Wingstop has some of the most unique chicken wing flavors today." "We are very excited about this opportunity," said Swad "During the early development of the Wingstop concept, I asked Rex, a Restaurant veteran, to join me in developing our own original, proprietary sauces."
