Wingstop opens new corporate store in Dallas

Wingstop Restaurants, Inc., ranked the number one chicken wing chain by Entrepreneur magazine, has announced that it has opened its third corporate-owned location in Dallas.

The new store, Wingstop’s 140th location, opened in the Buckner Commons Shopping Center at 9208 E. RL Thornton Freeway, Suite 204. Hours of operation are from 4:00 p.m. to midnight on weekdays and from 11:00 a.m. to midnight on Saturdays and Sundays. Bill Knight, Wingstop COO, says that this is the first corporate store to open in the Dallas area this year and that there will be one more before year’s end.

Wingstop recently announced its new strategy to increase the number of corporate stores to as much as 10 percent of the chain’s stores nationwide. Knight says that everyone at Wingstop is excited about the new corporate openings and the rapid Franchise expansion.

“It was a strong opening. We’re happy to receive such a warm welcome, and look forward to introducing the concept to many new wing eaters in the community and around the country,” said Knight

The Wingstop chain recently signed football great and long-time customer, Troy Aikman, as its national spokesman. The chain offers restaurants with a nostalgic, aviation-themed atmosphere where the sole focus is on chicken wings. Wingstop features eight proprietary, value-priced wing flavors, including Original Hot, Cajun, Atomic, Mild, Teriyaki, Lemon Pepper, Hawaiian Barbeque and Garlic Parmesan. The wings are always made-to-order and served steaming-hot. Customers also choose from a variety of 28 domestic and imported beers, wine coolers, soft drinks and homemade side dishes: fresh-cut seasoned fries, bourbon baked beans, pearl potato salad, vegetable sticks, rolls and assorted dipping sauces.

Wingstop currently has 140 restaurants in operation and another 130 under development in 22 states. Entrepreneur magazine ranked Wingstop as number one in the chicken wing category and number five in the ‘Top 25 New Franchises’ ranking in 2003.
