The Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) will present several workshops in September at the VBOC Conference Room located at 7270 East Southgate Drive, Sacramento, California.

Exploring Your Entrepreneurial Spirit
Wednesday, September 12, 2007, 9:00 am - 11:00 am
This training discuses the fundamentals for starting a business. Course includes: reality therapy, market analysis, business evaluation, market research, licensing and permit requirements, start-up costs, financing sources, insurance, legal structure, self employment analysis, cash management, customer profile, protecting your business idea, and reality of operating a business. This course also includes free-one-to consulting services for your business development needs. There is a $30.00 fee for this workshop.

Business Basics Workshop
September 12, 2007, 6:00 - 9:00 pm
This training is designed for individuals interested in starting a business or currently in business for two or less years. The course includes: business evaluation, market research, licensing and permit requirements, start-up costs, financing sources, insurance, cash flow analysis, legal structure, self employment analysis, cash management, customer profile, protecting your business idea, and reality of operating a business. This course also includes free consulting services for your business development needs. There is a $40.00 fee for this workshop.

Business Plan Workshop
Friday, September 21, 2007, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
This training is designed for individuals interested in writing a viable business plan. The workshop discusses key components of developing a business plan. Topic matter includes purpose of plan, organizational and market objectives, competitive comparison, financial management, business environment, customer profile, potential litigation, legal structure, suppliers, marketing strategy, operational infrastructure design, market analysis, recordkeeping, tools to forecast business needs, cash management, start-up costs, forecasting, traditional financing, personnel, and much more. This course also includes free-one-to-one business development consulting services for all veterans, DVBE, and reserve/guard members. There is an $80.00 fee for this workshop.

Marketing Techniques for Small Business
Thursday, September 27, 2007, 5:30 - 7:30 pm
This training is designed to provide marketing methodologies, sales strategies to increase customer base, advertising and promotion techniques to identify and target clientele base. This course also includes free-one-to consulting services for your business development needs. There is a $30.00 fee for this workshop. Pre-registration is required!!
