Star Wellness Announces First Franchise Agreement

Less than a month after announcing the launch of a Franchise expansion program, Star Wellness today announced that it has signed its first franchise agreement, covering north Houston and surrounding suburbs.

First franchisees for the Dallas-Fort Worth-based provider of state-of-the-art healthcare screening are Chris and Erin Scarbrough of Spring, Texas. Their franchise territory includes portions of Houston north of Interstate 10 as well as the communities of Spring, The Woodlands and Conroe.

Chris, a Houston firefighter and paramedic, and Erin, a nurse, say their background in healthcare along with the ability to initially operate the business from home on a part-time basis influenced their decision to become franchisees with Star Wellness.

“We always wanted our own business and this seemed like the perfect opportunity,” said Chris. “We’re comfortable with procedures like drawing blood and working with patients. And we can start out running this from home on a part-time basis until we build it into a full-time business.”

Star Wellness offers wellness and preventive care screening services for businesses, local governments and school systems and can be operated from home while building up the business. The company currently has more than 230 clients throughout Texas and over 20 other states.

The Scarbroughs expect to be in business by January 2, after completing training at the Star Wellness corporate headquarters. Their goal is to eventually expand into additional areas around Houston.
