Franchise News Release: baltimore, MD - (Aug-8-2006) SENIOR HELPERS™ CELEBRATES FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF FRANCHISING WITH 21 LOCATIONSSenior Helpers, a service that provides in-home personal assistance for senior citizens, completed its first year of Franchising as one of the fastest-growing professional caregiver services in the nation with 21 locations open or under development. Established in 2001 in Baltimore, Senior Helpers began franchising in August 2005 with a goal to open 10 locations. The last 12 months doubled those results. “Most of the franchising consultants we work with told us we should expect to sell five to ten Franchises in our first year,” said Peter Ross, CEO of Senior Helpers. “We set lofty goals, but the success of the concept has exceeded even our high expectations.” Ross credits the company’s growth to a rapidly increasing number of aging adults who want to live in dignity at home but require part-time or full-time care. To help franchisees meet this need, Senior Helpers has developed a Franchise system that features a proprietary marketing “Blueprint” as well as RN supervised care plan design and case management and a software system that streamlines such tasks as scheduling and billing. franchise territories also are typically three to four times larger than those offered by similar concepts. Senior Helpers was founded after Baltimore entrepreneur Tony Bonacuse watched his mother care for his two grandmothers, both of whom were in their 80s. The family was continually frustrated as she searched for quality caregivers and Bonacuse realized that others must be facing a similar challenge. “I never knew this industry existed until one of my grandmothers had a hip replaced and another broke an ankle and I watched my mother struggle to find good help,” recalled Bonacuse. By offering services not provided by traditional caregivers at the time, Senior Helpers was an immediate success. Now, just five years later, the Senior Helpers franchise has expanded to more than 20 locations from coast to coast with additional locations opening each month. “There was no doubt in my mind that this concept would be welcomed by the marketplace,” said Ross, who joined Bonacuse in 2004 to begin planning the company’s national expansion. “Not only do we provide critically needed services, but we’re helping make a difference in the lives of our clients. Almost all seniors prefer to live at home and we are the reason those wishes can be fulfilled.” About Senior Helpers This web site and the information contained herein does not constitute the offer or sale of a franchise.
