The new owner, Jose Manuel Cruz was personally selected by the previous owner and Master Licensee of Spain, Rafael Nunez. As Nunez explains, "I decided to sell to Jose because he is ambitious and I was confident he could lead the business in the right direction and represent the flagship store well. Plus, he has over twenty years experience managing companies; so I knew his success would be a good example to show potential franchisees."

The process of becoming a Master Licensee for a country includes operating a Franchise location, also known as the "flagship" store, for at least one year. The location is then sold and the Master Licensee dedicates their time to fully developing and expanding the SIGN*A*RAMA brand within their country. Nunez operated the flagship for two years while also working to develop the SIGN*A*RAMA system within Spain by selling an impressive eight locations in one year. Now that Cruz has taken ownership, Nunez can devote his time to the new SIGN*A*RAMA Franchises in his territory.
