Franchise News Release: St. Louis, MO - (Aug-9-2007)

RUG DECOR OPENS FIRST CHICAGOLAND STORE

Rug Decor of Naperville has combined five generations of tradition and more than 100 years of flooring knowledge with millions of dollars in national buying power as it opens its doors this August. The store is located in the new Design Point Naperville shopping center at 1320 N. Route 59. Owners, brothers Ben and Nick Boss, along with their father John Boss, are well prepared to fulfill the area’s demand for a design destination specializing in area rugs.

The Naperville Rug Decor is the first of the four to six area locations the Bosses are committed to opening in the Chicagoland market. The brothers were raised with “fiber in their blood” and are a part of a family flooring legacy. Their great-great grandfather served as a rug and furniture buyer for Marshall Fields. Both great grandfather and grandfather Boss owned and operated carpet mills in North Carolina and Amboy, Illinois. John Boss owns flooring stores in Chicago and Florida, which are managed by his sons.

“We have a great location, surrounded by complementary home and furnishing stores, and we have a perfect flooring retail model,” says Ben Boss. “This store is what the people want in an area rug retailer. Rug Decor’s shopping environment is visually exciting, easy to navigate, and has a selection so large and value priced, there’s something for everyone.”

Currently 37 Rug Decor locations are operating in North America. The Naperville location is part of the company’s national expansion plans, seeking entrepreneurs to open up to 40 new stores nationwide by the end of 2008.

A quickly growing system of retail stores that sell branded, fashion-oriented area rugs, Rug Decor houses thousands of choices—excelling in several areas most all-purpose floorcovering retailers struggle to meet, including a large selection of in-stock inventory, design-oriented staff, great values and an engaging shopping experience.

Rug Decor’s store format of 3,000 to 4,000 sq. ft. is designed to be an ideal shopping environment for customers. The company’s sales staff is trained in a custom-design program to help buyers choose the right style, size and color to best suit a room. Customers can pay for their products and take them home the same day, or they have to option to shop from home through online and print catalogs.

“Our store owners are backed by professionalism and unparalleled buying power of a large corporation and provide the customer service of a small business,” says Mark Jameson, vice president of Franchise development with Rug Decor. “We look forward to extending our successful business model into additional new markets with high demand.”

A Franchise Opportunity to “Floor” Entrepreneurs

According to the Freedonia Group market research, U.S. demand for hard surface flooring will grow 5.5 percent annually through 2009, which will increase the demand for area and accents rugs as room design features. Rug Decor is offering would-be entrepreneurs an appealing investment opportunity in a flourishing industry, opening its franchise opportunity to qualified candidates in a range of markets across the U.S. Each market has been pre-qualified and researched thoroughly for market potential, customer demographics and consumer buying habits.

With a franchise fee of $30,000 and total startup costs from $319,440, Rug Decor offers a turnkey franchise opportunity with excellent ROI potential in a high growth industry. Upon signing, Rug Decor assists new franchisees in all areas of startup including selecting and negotiating real estate, obtaining credit and other financial support, marketing, merchandising, purchasing and training. In addition, the company provides franchisees with professionalism and unparalleled buying power to ensure long-term success.
