Community Environmental Fundraising Initiative from RWorld

There is a new grass roots movement taking place that has a potential to raise thousands of dollars for Simcoe Community Services Foundation - Child Mentoring Program. “Typically donations and money are being stretched with the many charities that are in need of financial assistance,” commented Karl Cadera, FDN Resource Developer for SCS Foundation “ we are asking individuals and business to make a commitment to save their empty printer cartridges from the trash and donate them to the program”.

The program, properly named “ Cartridges for Kids” involves the collection of used ink and toner cartridges which are conveniently picked up by Fastway courier service and each viable empty cartridge will be purchased and recycled by RWorld, a local printer cartridge recycling and remanufacturing franchised business. This unique three-way alliance offers a realistic solution for our community. Our landfill will receive a positive impact and our community will support the greatly needed services of the SCS Foundation.

Cartridges for Kids are asking anyone who utilizes printer cartridges to make a commitment to not throw their empties away and simply make a call for them to be picked up and donated to this worthwhile cause. It is a great way to donate effortlessly.

The potential for raising thousands of dollars is huge. This is money that literally is being thrown away. It is always easy to give at the end of the year or around the holidays but this is a year round solution for anyone having a printer to assist this precious cause, with the added benefit of contributing to our environment by waste reduction.
