PUMP IT UP Triples Franchise Growth in One Year, Opening 100th Location in September


 

Private Birthday Party Chain `Inflates’ in Multi-Billion Dollar Youth Recreation Market

PUMP IT UP, a fast-growing national Franchise specializing in private children’s party facilities featuring giant inflatable play structures, announced today it has reached its 100th location milestone, set to open September 18, 2005 in Germantown, TN.

“The growth we’ve experienced in this past year has been phenomenal,” said Brenda Dronkers, founder of the five-year-old franchise. “Never in my wildest dreams did I think we would triple the number of locations in just a 12-month period,” said Dronkers, noting that an average of six to eight new PUMP IT UP locations open each month around the country.

PUMP IT UP, which specializes in private birthday, team and school parties for children of all ages, has exceeded anticipated growth projections, opening 58 new locations in the past year alone, and signed franchise agreements for 135 more to open by the end of 2006. The company is actively seeking to expand through Franchising in the Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Miami, St. Louis, and Kansas City markets

The 100th location, set to open in Germantown, TN in September 2005, is the second unit for franchisee Holly Barrow, whose first location opened a year ago in a Memphis suburb. “I think PUMP IT UP is most successful because it’s so private and personal and we try to do everything we can for the parents to make the party a stress-free experience for them. That way, it’s all about the children,” Barrow said. “It’s exciting for me to bring the PUMP IT UP franchise system to the 100th mark with my opening. I hope one day to be opening up No. 200 for them,” she said.

PUMP IT UP has increased its corporate staff by 10 percent in the past year to support its expanding franchise system, including Pat Saign as Marketing Director to provide franchise owners with local marketing support. Saign has more than 20 years experience in franchising, marketing, and building brand awareness for concepts such as Chuck E. Cheese, Grand Slam USA and Blue Chip Cookies. While at Chuck E. Cheese, Saign established and managed the marketing department and directed the company’s growth from a single prototype store to 300 locations nationwide with sales of $225 million.

To generate continued strong sales at its growing number of franchise locations, PUMP IT UP is introducing an enhanced business model that offers additional, consistent revenue streams for franchise owners. Historically earning the lion’s share of its sales from renting out its facilities for private children’s birthday parties, PUMP IT UP is now expanding its “menu offerings” to include community and other group events centered around a variety of age groups, such as “Pumpjama Parties” and “Jump Camp” summer programs emphasizing fitness made fun for children, youth athletic team parties, along with school functions, fundraisers, and corporate team building, according to Saign.
