Peter Piper Pizza Targets Seattle (and Seven Other U.S. Metro Areas) for Franchise Expansion
Peter Piper, the Southwest's leading family dine-in pizza and entertainment Restaurant chain for more than 30 years, has announced plans to open 10 Franchise locations in the Seattle area, creating business opportunities for local entrepreneurs and boosting the region's economy by creating 500 new jobs in the community.
"We are concentrating our efforts on attracting local and area developers to open multiple Peter Piper locations in the Seattle area," said Peter Piper President & CEO Frank Sbordone. "Our objective is to find a business-minded franchise partner in Seattle with multi-unit restaurant capability and experience. To be successful, the Peter Piper franchise partner has to understand the fast-paced restaurant environment and be equipped to build multiple new prototype locations in target markets."
Executives of the 135-unit Peter Piper franchise concept say they identified Seattle among its first markets to target for franchise expansion based on extensive research from Buxton, the leading customer analysis firm for the retail industry. Buxton's findings turned up an ideal match between Seattle's population and the lifestyles, behavior patterns and buying habits of typical Peter Piper's customers.
Established in 1973, Peter Piper focuses on delivering "90 minutes of magic" for its guests, made up largely of families and groups of all sizes and ages. Each restaurant offers fresh-baked pizzas, salads, side dishes and other menu items in a lively, fun and family-friendly environment that features an array of redemption, sports and video games, including interactive games for group play. Carryout is also available. With a community focus, Peter Piper offers school, team and other organization programs, including the Good Student Award, which recognizes excellence in academic achievement, good citizenship or achieving a particular goal. Typically around 8,500 square feet, the restaurants are popular destinations for birthday parties and sports team events.
"The demographics and consumer lifestyle in Seattle are a perfect fit for Peter Piper's expansion model and criteria," Sbordone said. "Our strong brand recognition in the Southwest and our above-industry average store economics will provide a successful business venture for an experienced, Multi-unit franchise partner, while offering the Seattle community a fun place with great food that's enjoyable for all ages."
Peter Piper is attracting renewed interest around the nation since introducing a new restaurant prototype design three years ago that emphasizes food quality, allows pricing elasticity, appeals to a broader market that includes adults and generates consumer interest in new markets. Over twenty-five locations with the new design are now open and are operating with great success. Unlike other food/entertainment concepts that gear to young children only, Peter Piper Pizza differentiates itself with an upscale feel and quality menu selection that appeals to children, teens and adults.
In addition to traditional and specialty pizzas made with fresh dough prepared daily, Peter Piper Pizza also offers salads, garlic cheese bread, breadsticks, chicken wings and a cinnamon crunch dessert, as well as soft drinks, beer and wine.
