Pet Butler Franchise, Nation's Top Pet Waste Cleanup Service, Expands to Colorado
The Denver-based husband wife team of Robert and Jennifer Shurtleff have opened the first Colorado Franchise of Pet Butler, the nation's leading pet cleanup service.
Pet Butler, based in Dallas, provides professional pet waste cleanup and removal services for individual homeowners and their pets, as well as for multi-family communities and parks. The company proudly bills itself as "#1 in the '#2' business."
Pet Butler charges a small per-visit fee to collect dog and cat waste, carry it away, and dispose of it properly. Whether in yards or in public spaces, accumulated domestic animal waste can ruin lawns and present a significant source of water pollution.
The Shurtleffs' Pet Butler operation offers weekly and twice-weekly pickup services to pet owners in East and Southeast Denver, Aurora, Greenwood Village, Centennial, Lone Tree, and parts of Englewood.
Previously, the Shurtleffs owned their own construction company. Robert is also a former Marine. Jennifer was a special education teacher in Denver where she has worked with special needs students for many years.
They began outlining plans for a poop-scooping business more than a year ago, after learning that the pet industry is one of the top five growth industries in the nation.
"We knew how we wanted to run our poop-scooping business, and when we discovered Pet Butler, we realized that they had already built the exact business model that we wanted," said Robert. "Once we saw that, we knew we had to be part of the team."
Robert said the Denver Metro areas their Pet Butler operation serves should be a great market. "There is so much growth in this area right now, and many of the people who live here are hard-working families without much free time. Our services will help them keep their lawns clean and enjoyable." Jennifer will be the primary pet waste technician, while Robert will oversee operations.
The Shurtleffs are the proud owners of a Springer Spaniel Border Collie mix dog, a Tortoise Shell cat, and a Love Bird Parrot.
Matt "Red" Boswell, CEO (Chief Excrement Officer) of Pet Butler, said the Denver market is a welcome expansion for the company. "Denver is a beautiful city and a great place to do business. Now that Robert and Jennifer have brought Pet Butler to the area, it will look and smell even better," Boswell said.
