Franchise News Release: San Antonio, TX - (Apr-26-2006)

Pet Butler, Nation's Top Pet Waste Clean-Up Service Franchise, Opens Office in San Antonio

The husband and wife team of Eric and Miranda Hoffpauir of Center Point have opened the first San Antonio-area office of Pet Butler, the nation's leading pet cleanup service. It is the company's 11th Franchise office in Texas.

Pet Butler, based in Dallas, provides professional pet waste cleanup and removal services for individual homeowners and their pets, as well as for multi-family communities and parks. The company proudly bills itself as #1 in the #2 business.

Pet Butler charges a small per-visit fee to collect dog and cat waste, carry it away, and dispose of it properly. Whether in yards or in public spaces, accumulated domestic animal waste can ruin lawns and present a significant source of water pollution.

The Hoffpauirs' Pet Butler operation, based in Center Point, serves most of the San Antonio area, offering weekly and twice-weekly pickup services. Their service area includes Schertz, Universal City, Converse, Leon Valley, Kirby, Alamo Heights, Boerne, Terrell Hills, Fair Oaks Ranch, Helotes, and a number of smaller communities.

Eric and Miranda Hoffpauir are new to the San Antonio area, coming here from Dallas, where they both worked for Texas Instruments. Eric worked in research and development and Miranda in testing at the technology company. They had been looking for an opportunity to own their own business, and found that opportunity in an unusual place.

We wanted our business to be something new and unique, Miranda said. Pet Butler was everything we were looking for. Once we got over the initial shock of thinking we'd be picking up dog poop for a living, we couldn't get the idea of owning a franchise out of our heads.

Eric said San Antonio is a great market for Pet Butlers services, with its sizable pet population and busy lifestyles. That's why we're here, to help out all those time-strapped, two-earner households, where free time is at a premium. We can keep their yards fresh, so that when they do spend time there, it's for relaxing, not for picking up after their dogs.

The Hoffpauirs have three dogs of their own, two Great Danes and a Pomeranian, so they already have extensive experience at cleaning up after pets. Miranda also worked previously as a veterinarian technician and an SPCA volunteer.

Eric added, jokingly, I suppose you could say our new business stinks, but we look forward to really cleaning up.

Matt Red Boswell, CEO (Chief Excrement Officer) of Pet Butler, said the San Antonio office is a welcome expansion for the company. San Antonio is a beautiful area and a fantastic place to do business, and now that Eric and Miranda Hoffpauir have brought Pet Butler there, it will look and smell even better. Pet Butler's other Texas offices are in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
