Papa John's Tops in American Customer Satisfaction Index For Third Consecutive Year

Consumers have again rewarded Papa John's commitment to quality by rating the pizza chain number one in customer satisfaction among all national Fast Food restaurants for the third straight year. The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), released today by The National Quality Research Center at the University of Michigan Business School, rated Papa John's ten percent higher than the Restaurant industry group average and also above the retail sector average.

According to the press released issued by the American Society for Quality, "Papa John's, with a score of 78, is the only fast-food company that consistently beats the retail sector average ... Papa John's has been the highest-scoring firm in its class since its inclusion in ACSI in 1999 ... Driven by a focus on quality control and high customer satisfaction."

Celebrating its 17th anniversary this year, Papa John's focus is using high-quality ingredients to make its customers a superior-quality pizza. Papa John's makes the crust of every traditional pizza with fresh dough (never frozen) prepared with clear-filtered water in the company's regional quality control centers. Papa John's uses only fresh-packed tomato sauce made from vine-ripened tomatoes, cheese made with 100% mzzarella and other high-quality toppings.

The American Customer Satisfaction Index survey was conducted by the National Quality Research Center at the University of Michigan Business School in partnership with the American Society for Quality and the CFI Group. During the fourth quarter of 2001, 16,000 current customers of the companies included in the survey were asked questions about their expectations and perceptions of value and quality.

Papa John's has also been voted Best Pizza in more than 60 markets throughout the country. For five consecutive years, Papa John's has received the highest product quality ratings in Restaurants and Institutions' prestigious Choice in Chains Survey.
