PRESS RELEASE: Coralville, IA - (Apr-30-2008)

Panchero's Mixes Things Up

How many times have you customized your burrito, only to bite into it and get a mouthful of only one ingredient? That scenario is no longer an issue at Panchero’s Mexican Grill thanks to a little tool named Bob.

Starting this month, Panchero’s Mexican Grill restaurants across the country have once again set themselves apart from the competition by mixing burrito ingredients together before wrapping it all up in a freshly-pressed tortilla. The mixing mechanism, a plastic tool named Bob, allows every ingredient to be tasted in each and every bite. According to Panchero’s founder, Rodney L. Anderson, it’s because every bite counts.

“People come to Panchero’s because we have the freshest ingredients around and now, thanks to Bob, they can enjoy every ingredient in every bite instead of the bite of rice-bite of beans-bite of cheese cycle at other restaurants,” said Anderson. “We have been testing Bob out for the past few months at a few different locations and the feedback has been tremendous. We actually had people that told us that even though they had a Panchero’s down the street from them, they made a special trip to our test locations because of Bob. If this sample is any indication, a little piece of plastic is going to revamp the way people eat burritos from now on.”

Founded in 1992, Coralville, Iowa-based Panchero’s Mexican Grill is a quick-service, fresh-Mexican franchise concept that serves its signature fresh pressed tortillas filled with the freshest, highest-quality vegetables, meats, cheeses and salsas. The menu includes made-to-order burritos, quesadillas, tacos, burrito bowls and salads, along with award-winning and homemade salsas, guacamole and queso. Panchero’s currently has over 45 locations in 15 states:  Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin. About 20 new units are expected to open in 2008, including planned expansion into Georgia, Virginia and New Jersey.
