PC Kidz Announces New 40 - Week Curriculum

PC Kidz, a Texas based children’s computer education company, unveils a new 40-Week Curriculum aimed at establishing computer literacy and technology skills in preschool and elementary students, while adhering to the same fall and spring schedules accepted by local school districts.

The 40-Week Curriculum, designed by professional educators, is divided into five program levels which target age appropriate objectives and activities. This innovative approach not only aligns the curriculum with both state and national technology standards, but presents the lessons with the child’s developmental abilities in mind.

PC Kidz CEO and founder, Steve Perry, says, “Many people are astounded that we offer classes to children so young, but they don’t realize that the Texas Education Agency outlines requirements for technology even at the Kindergarten level.”

According to the Pediatrics Medical Journal (June 2004), “Computers boost preschoolers’ intelligence. Children with ready access to computers scored an average of 12 points higher on IQ tests, and preschoolers with computers scored twice as high on motor skills.”

Stacy Etzelmiller, Franchise owner of PC Kidz Mid-Cities and co-author of the curriculum, believes, “Computer literacy can no longer be considered an extra-curricular activity…it is a life-skill. This is one of the few programs that can actually enhance your child’s future education, by providing a solid foundation in technology.” Stacy Etzelmiller adds, “Children who acquire technology skills at an early age have a marked advantage over their peers. While most children are still learning to use technology, our students are already using technology to learn.”
