The Central Ohio Home and Garden Show was named “2006 Show of the Year” by the National Association of Consumer Shows features three stages of continuous activities and entertainment; including a Home Improvement stage, a garden stage, and a gourmet galaxy stage. While attending the show, be sure to stop at the NiteLites booth where Troy Hutto and his staff will show his spectacular collection of evening photographs of homes and landscape photographs. Tips on energy efficient lighting as well as the advantages of using their solid brass and copper, specification grade low voltage lighting systems will be given to the public. For years NiteLites has been an industry leader in the production and installation of low voltage outdoor landscape lighting with specialization in both residential and commercial design, installation, and service. NiteLites provides a wide array of exterior low voltage lighting including: architectural lighting, landscape and garden lighting, deck and patio lighting, fountain and marina lighting, clubhouse lighting, safety and security lighting, submersible lighting, and path lighting. Energy-efficient line voltage lighting, especially fluorescent, continues to receive a great deal of attention and implementation. But low voltage lighting saves energy and offers benefits not available with line voltage lighting. Low voltage lighting, by definition, operates at 30 volts or less. A transformer, integral or remote, converts line voltage (120V) to either 12 or 24 volts. When powered properly, low voltage lighting can produce two-and-a-half times as much light as line voltage incandescent lamps. The per-lamp savings for each 1,000 hours of operation can be as much as $7.50, based on a kilowatt-hour rate of 10 cents. Multiplied by the number of lamps installed in an architectural and landscape lighting system, the savings become significant. This energy efficiency produces a strong case for low voltage lighting for architectural, landscape, and even general lighting applications. Other reasons to consider low voltage lighting include: light quality, design flexibility, safety, and lack of waste. Light pollution is a growing problem in many areas throughout the United States. By maintaining an even application on the focal point rather than the glaring lights produced by high voltage lighting, NiteLites provides the added elegance of lighting while protecting our skies from intrusive “over lighting”. NiteLites fixtures are designed to control glare, many of our fixtures are shielded-making them low glare. This means they have a top on them which keeps the light directed toward the ground. They are also energy efficient; they minimize lighting trespass; they provide great nighttime ambiance; and they use only 12 volts of electricity so there is minimal impact on artificial glow. President and CEO, Thomas A. Frederick explains that “..even if low voltage lighting weren’t energy efficient, it (low voltage lighting) would still be specified for commercial space as there is no other type of lighting can duplicate low voltage’s light quality.” Low voltage systems are recognized for delivering the desired ambience for the environment. The ability to make lighting inconspicuous, and even transparent, rates as important design criteria for a Green program, and for NiteLites. The package of benefits that low voltage lighting offers for enhancing commercial and residential environments deserves consideration for a range of applications. One of the most rewarding applications of outdoor landscape lighting is in the garden. Pathways, ponds, statues, trees, and shrubs all produce a serene atmosphere when landscape lighting is properly applied. Lighting designers are trained in producing this type of effect. By using different techniques, they can create a different and more dramatic look for a client’s property. Some of these lighting techniques include: moon lighting, up lighting, accent and spot lighting, path lighting, and spread lighting. NiteLites’ world headquarters, located in Franklin, Ohio, specializes in the manufacturing, design, installation, and life time maintenance of top quality, specification grade low voltage lighting for both residential and commercial applications. NiteLites’ proprietary line of copper and brass fixtures provide an inviting application of light on any project. NiteLites continually strives to elevate the standards of quality, safety, and professionalism in the outdoor lighting industry. Their products and systems include the latest cutting edge technology from their progressive manufacturers as well as a solid history of providing first-rate service to every client.
