Joseph F. Garuti Joins New England Hot Dog Company As Vice President and Executive Chef

New England Hot Dog Company, purveyor of gourmet “haute” dogs made with your choice of 10 kinds of hot dogs and more than 48 possible toppings, announces today the appointment of Joseph F. Garuti as Vice President and Executive Chef.

Joe brings over 30 years of culinary experience to enhance the offerings of New England Hot Dog Company. Joe most recently was the owner of Boston Hot Dog Company of Salem, MA where he successfully developed the gourmet hot dog concept in that city. Boston Hot Dog Company and Joe’s culinary expertise has been recognized in many publications and by the Phantom Gourmet as a “Hidden Jewel” in July 2004.

“We are excited about the opportunity to bring Joe onboard to round out our management team,” said Richard Saxe, CEO of New England Hot Dog Company. “Joe brings experience and creativity with food that only enhances our offerings and brings a new dimension to helping our franchisees. Over time we plan to bring homemade chili, beans, coleslaw and other food items to our restaurants. This is only possible having someone with Joe’s talent for creating award winning food items on the team.”

With the appointment of Garuti, New England Hot Dog completes it management team which includes Saxe of Marblehead, MA as CEO bringing his 20 years of retail experience with Rich’s and Jerry’s Department Stores, Eric Levy of Swampscott, MA as Chief Operating Officer with 20 years of finance and marketing experience, Steven Saxe, also of Marblehead, MA as Senior Vice President and Counsel with experience in real estate and law and Thomas Pass of Swampscott, MA as Senior Vice President of Store Operations with his background in construction and store management.
