New Horizons Wins Spot In FORTUNE's '100 Fastest-Growing Companies' (8/00)

New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, the world's largest independent computer training company, announced that it is among FORTUNE magazine's annual list of "100 Fastest-Growing Companies" in America.

The listing is included in the Sept. 4, 2000 issue of the magazine, which will be released on Aug. 21.

To be included for this elite recognition, New Horizons demonstrated a 48-percent annual growth rate in earnings per share (EPS) and a 40-percent revenue growth rate for the past three years. For the same period, the company also showed a compounded 37-percent increase in total return to stockholders.

New Horizons posted corporate earnings of $8.3 million net income and revenues of $123.4 million in the past four quarters. According to FORTUNE, "It (New Horizons) is bigger than the numbers suggest. If Franchise operations are included, revenues totaled $435 million last year."

In its second-quarter 2000 earnings report, New Horizons announced a revenue increase of 31 percent and a net income increase of 28 percent, representing its 13th consecutive quarter of revenue and income growth.

"Being named one of FORTUNE's '100 Fastest-Growing Companies in America' demonstrates that our focus on the depth and breadth of our course offerings, the expansion of our worldwide locations, and commitment to quality training and service have contributed to New Horizon's outstanding growth," said Thomas J. Bresnan, president and CEO of New Horizons.

"We are delighted that FORTUNE magazine has recognized us as one of America's fastest growing companies."

New Horizons was recently ranked as the third largest IT training company in the world, behind IBM and Oracle, by International Data Corp. (IDC). According to the IDC report, released in May 2000, the worldwide IT training market grew by 13 percent from 1998 to 1999.

"New Horizons is currently growing at nearly twice that rate," Bresnan added, "which confirms that companies driving the 'new economy' are turning to New Horizons to solve their substantial training needs."
