New Horizons Identified as World's Revenue Growth Leader for IT Training, According to IDC Study (6/00)
New Horizons Computer Learning Centers has been ranked by International Data Corp. (IDC) as the world leader in revenue growth of training companies with more than $200 million in annual sales.
New Horizons' growth rate in 1999 was 21.8 percent, which was the highest of any IT training provider listed among IDC's top 10 companies. With more than $435 million in revenues in 1999, an increase of $78 million over 1998 revenues, New Horizons was the only company listed with revenues more than $200 million and a growth rate of more than 20 percent in 1999.
New Horizons more than doubled the growth rate of the top 15 global leaders, whose average increase was 10.5 percent.
In addition to being the world leader for revenue growth, New Horizons was identified by IDC as the third largest IT training company in the world, up from the position of fourth largest in 1998 when its revenues were $357 million.
IDC's opinion was set forth in its recent Education and Training Services report titled "The Top 15 Worldwide IT Training Providers."
"New Horizons has a unique opportunity in the e-learning market to offer a blended solution of classroom instruction plus live e-learning or some variation," said Ellen Julian, director of IDC's Career and Learning Services Research. "The company has the capabilities to serve international markets with translations, staff and expertise. And, New Horizons is a company that has momentum.
"It's a story that Wall Street likes. For these reasons, we have identified New Horizons as a 'Company to Watch' in the year 2000."
The IDC report comes on the heels of a recent study by Simba Information that listed New Horizons as the largest computer training company in the United States, based on domestic revenues. New Horizons was also listed as the world's third largest computer training company in the Simba study.
New Horizons operates more than 240 training centers in 44 countries and trains more than 2.4 million students per year. In addition to instructor-led classes and training via CD-ROM, the Santa Ana-based company offers Web-based training, computer labs, certification exam preparation tools and 24-hour, seven-day-a-week help desk support through both company-owned and franchise-operated computer learning centers.
