MyCity.com to Offer Franchises in 600 U.S. Metropolitan Territories


MyCity.com™ announced that it has begun selling Franchise rights to 600 metropolitan U.S. territories covering over 50,000 U.S. hometowns on the world's largest community portal. Local MyCity.com franchise holders will be positioned for multiple revenue streams, including local and national advertising; development and hosting of local Web sites and locally generated e-commerce.

Franchise rights fees range from $27,500 through $42,000 depending on the size and desirability of the territory. The Company anticipates revenue in excess of $20 million for the one-time sale of these franchises. "Obviously, we expect the major metropolitan areas to go first," noted Chuck Woolweaver, MyCity.com VP of Franchise Development, "but we believe there is great value in the markets below the top 50. Current competitors in the city portal arena have basically ignored the middle and small markets, which gives franchisees a terrific opportunity to build strong operations without significant competition."
