Marvelous Market Franchise Plans Washington, DC Metro Expansion

Marvelous Market, a local favorite known for its chef-crafted, all natural food and gourmet convenience store atmosphere, is expanding via Franchising in Virginia and Washington, D.C. The chain has partnered with Fransmart, an Alexandria, Va. based Franchise development company in order to ramp up its regional expansion. "Marvelous Market has been a Washington DC favorite since its opening in 1990," said Marvelous Market CEO, Michael Meyer. "Our fresh look at on-the-go quality food has won over many Washingtonians and we are excited to bring more stores to the area."

Often referred to as a "mini Whole Foods," Marvelous Market combines quality and convenience. Offering bottled wine, fresh baked breads, pastries, desserts, sandwiches and salads, every entrée is made fresh over night using only the finest ingredients. For expediency, Marvelous Market products are self-service items-customers do not have to wait for food to be cooked, assembled and packaged. Virtually all of the products are pre-wrapped and specifically designed for easy accessibility.

Marvelous Market currently has eight stores in the metro area and expects to grow to 50 plus units by 2008. Their first franchise location will open at the beginning of October on Capitol Hill.
