MaggieMoo’s Ice Cream Again Wins Top Honors for Quality


The premium ice cream treats at MaggieMoo’s once again have received multiple Blue Ribbon Awards of Excellence from the National Ice Cream Retailers Association (NICRA). For the eighth consecutive year, the organization bestowed its prestigious Blue Ribbon Awards upon MaggieMoo’s for its Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Vanilla and Vanilla Bean flavors. MaggieMoo’s continues its title run as the only national retail concept to win all four awards.

The awards recognize the superior quality of MaggieMoo’s treats and reaffirm the high standards and exact measurements used to create super premium ice cream every day in each Treatery. “It is an honor to be distinguished as having the best tasting ice cream for the eighth year in a row,” said Jon Jameson , President and CEO of MaggieMoo’s. “The awards acknowledge our dedication to making the finest ice cream in the nation by using only the highest-quality and proprietary formulas available.”

As always, competition for the Blue Ribbon Awards was fierce. More than 50 ice creams were submitted at the 71st NICRA convention. Dr. Ronald Schmidt of the University of Florida and his dairy tasting team served on the judging panel. Each ice cream was scored according to color, texture and taste.

MaggieMoo’s takes great care during preparation and storage to ensure the quality of its smallbatch ice cream. Beginning with a proprietary mix, MaggieMoo’s uses the freshest, best ingredients available, such as pure vanilla from Madagascar . Each Treatery uses Italian mixers that fold the ingredients toge the r, ra the r than whipping the m, which creates a smoo the r, creamier texture. By creating and storing the ice cream at each Treatery, MaggieMoo’s is able to maintain a consistent temperature that protects the integrity of each batch. Ice cream from many other concepts undergoes a freeze-thaw process during transport that can alter the taste and texture.

Established in 1933, NICRA is the oldest and largest trade organization for ice cream and frozen dessert retailers, wholesalers and distributors. The members of NICRA are located across the United States , Canada and several other countries.
