Franchise News Release: Racine, WI - (Jun-29-2006) Little City Kids Franchise - One Mom Dared to DreamLocal business woman, Robin Stearns, owner of Little City Kids, LLC in Franksville is expanding her business. She is now registered to Franchise Little City Kids, LLC to other individuals with the desire to make a difference in the lives of children. Little City Kids, LLC is not just a daycare, but an educational playcare. Little City Kids is an ingeniously crafted world where every child is an adventurer and every day is an adventure. From its richly inspiring "little city" environment and its cleverly engineered Imagination Stations to its proprietary curricula and team-teaching approach, Little City Kids is a place of endless possibilities for toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children. Instead of chaos, each day flows smoothly according to a plan that supports the whole child. The Little City Kids Perspective is a teaching approach that encourages children to discover the world and its innumerable gifts. The Perspective is designed to fill the classroom with a full year of joyous learning. The year's lessons are based on a timeline of world history incorporating the traditional subjects of math, science, and reading into an innovative study of world cultures emphasizing the arts. Like many great ideas, the idea for Little City Kids arose from a real-life situation. Founder Robin Stearns, with a degree in creative writing from M.I.T., was expanding her textbook production company and required childcare for her own children as well as those of her 12 employees. She looked at outside resources, but was extremely disappointed in what she found. Robin, a visionary thinker and successful entrepreneur, kept focusing on her dream for a truly child-inspired daycare alternative where kids. couldn't wait to go. . . to discover their interests . . . stimulate their minds . . . play and learn naturally . . . and have the time of their lives. Recalling the experience of their own kids at children's museums with hands-on involvement and non-stop enthusiasm, Robin and her business partner-husband Howard, began to formulate the Little City Kids concept. They purchased an old school building and began designing a facility, using a children's museum as their model. Robin's interest in child development and her desire to raise the level of childcare in her community kept driving her beyond the basic hands-on model. Soon, she had developed detailed curricula for both independent play and teacher-guided activities. |
