Lawn Doctor Franchise Featured in "Black Enterprise's 30 Hottest Franchises for 2006" List

Lawn Doctor continues its commitment to diversity through participating in the International Franchise Association's (IFA) discount program for minority entrepreneurs, MinorityFran. Recently, Lawn Doctor was recognized and featured in the September 2006 issue of the national publication, Black Enterprise (B.E.), for it's commitment to diversity.

Each year, Black Enterprise identifies the best franchise opportunities for African-Americans and compiles a list called "Black Enterprise's 30 Hottest Franchises." This year, Lawn Doctor, the largest lawn care franchise in the United States, was featured on this list, specifically under the home services sector.

According to the national publication, "This year, to spotlight the stars, B.E. has not only identified the hottest sectors poised to flourish in years to come, but also sought out franchisors with active minority recruitment programs." Lawn Doctor has participated in the MinorityFran Program since its inception with IFA in late February of 2006.

The main objective of MinorityFran is to provide an expedient location where franchise prospects of diverse ethnic backgrounds can begin their quests for franchisors actively looking to recruit minority franchisees and provide them with a discount that serves to the prospect's benefit.

In participating in the MinorityFran Program, qualified Lawn Doctor franchise candidates belonging to ethnic minority groups will save $4,000 on Lawn Doctor's initial franchise fee of $25,000. Lawn Doctor takes great pride in its participation in this program because it offers them the ability to provide a discount that will benefit those who are from different ethnic backgrounds.

Tonya Glasco, owner of Lawn Doctor of Cedar Hill-Duncanville, Texas, is an African-American franchisee who has proven to be a great asset to Lawn Doctor, along with her husband, Anthony. The Glascos are also a retired military family. "Retiring from the military, we needed something else to do. Something that would build value long term, where we could work for ourselves and something that would bring value to us," said Glasco. "We liked the longevity of Lawn Doctor and felt that because it is nationally recognized, it would help grow our business."
