Krispy Kreme Opens First International Store in Canada

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. will open the doors to its first Canadian store in Mississauga, Ontario, on Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at 5:30 a.m. Located at 5920 Mavis Road, on the corner of Mavis Road and Plymouth Drive, this location will be Krispy Kreme's first international store. Within the next few years, Krispy Kreme plans to begin opening stores in Europe and Asia.

In addition to the Mississauga location, Krispy Kreme will be opening four more stores on December 11 including the first store in Wisconsin just outside of Milwaukee in West Allis and the first store in Reno, Nevada. Stores also will be opening in Burbank, California and Mundelein, Illinois on the same day. This will bring the total number of Krispy Kreme stores currently in operation to 212 stores in 33 states and Canada.
