IHOP Celebrates 1,000th Restaurant Opening

The skies over Layton, Utah, rained breakfast today when skydivers dressed as IHOP's Rooty Tooty Fresh `N Fruity breakfast meal dropped from a mile above the earth into the parking lot of IHOP's 1,000th store, located at 920 Main Street.

Dressed as two eggs, one bacon, one sausage, one hashbrown and a blueberry sauce, the six skydivers were joined on the ground by two oversized IHOP pancakes on a giant place setting composed of a 1,000-square-foot placemat, a 30-foot plate, giant silverware and one big napkin.

The high-flying event commemorated the grand opening of IHOP's milestone store in Layton, Utah, and included a dedication by Layton Mayor Jerry Stevenson and a check presentation to the United Way.
