Huddle House Featured in National Trade Magazine Cover Story

HUDDLE HOUSE CEO and President Philip M. Greifeld has kicked off the new year by generating more of the high visibility and excitement that the 24-hour Restaurant chain created in 1999. In a tribute to his Franchising successes, Greifeld is featured on the January cover of Franchise TIMES, a national trade publication that serves 15,000 franchise-business owners and franchisor senior executives.

A two-page cover story and additional color photography accompanies Greifeld's smiling face on the publication's cover.

Titled "Greifeld Wakes Up A Sleepy 24-Hour Chain," the cover article traces the history of the 36-year-old restaurant chain and notes Greifeld's infectious energy and business savvy, qualities that have worked like a charm on associates, prospective clients, and a growing number of franchisees in the HUDDLE HOUSE system.

Greifeld, who served as chief financial officer for HUDDLE HOUSE before becoming CEO in October of 1998, is credited in the cover story with stronger ties to franchisees, a colorful new interior design for all future restaurants, and a franchising coup in 1999, signing a multi-unit co-branding deal with Thomas & King of Lexington, Ky., the 14th largest franchisee in the nation.

The 24-hour restaurant chain, which took its name from post-game-meal "huddles," was founded in 1964. Based in Decatur, Ga., HUDDLE HOUSE operates 340 restaurants in 12 Southeastern states, Virginia, West Virginia and Missouri.
