Hooters Buffalo Shrimp to be on Supermarket Shelves

Hooters Foods, Inc. announced that they are bringing one of the Restaurant chain's most popular food items, Hooters Buffalo Shrimp, to grocery shelves. Second in sales only to their signature wings, the Buffalo Shrimp will join Hooters' famous wing sauce, hot sauce and breading, which have been available in grocery outlets since 1992.

The new "home replacement meal" is now available in 11 divisions of Winn-Dixie throughout the southeast and more grocers throughout the country will soon be making this item available. The package will contain about a half pound of shrimp (around 20) and will include medium sauce and a bag of breading. "If directions are followed, the consumer should be able to achieve the same great results as we do at Hooters, just absent the orange shorts," commented Lee Usilton, Vice President of Hooters Foods.

The first Hooters Restaurant opened in Clearwater, Florida, in 1983. Hooters of America, Inc., the Atlanta-based operator and franchiser, now has over 280 Hooters locations in 41 states, Asia, Aruba, Canada, England, Mexico, Singapore, Taiwan, Argentina, Brazil, Austria, Switzerland, and Puerto Rico.
