Gymboree Names New Director

The Board of Directors of The Gymboree Corporation appointed John Pound, who is a principal in Integrity Partners of Boston, as a director of the company. Mr. Pound fills the seat left vacant by the resignation of Deborah Sorondo.

"John makes a strong addition to our Board. He is an experienced retail investor and consultant, and we will benefit from the strategic insight he brings to Gymboree," said Stuart Moldaw, Gymboree's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

The Gymboree Corporation designs, manufactures and retails unique, high-quality apparel and accessories for children. As of September 11, 2000, Gymboree operated 605 stores, including 553 stores in the United States, 20 stores in Canada and 32 in Europe, as well as an online store. The company also offers directed parent-child developmental play programs at more than 420 franchised and company-operated centers in the United States and 15 other countries.
