Lisa Harper Appointed to Gymboree Board of Directors

Following its Annual Meeting of Stockholders on Friday, June 2, the Board of Directors of The Gymboree Corporation appointed Lisa Harper, Senior Vice President and General Merchandise Manager, as a director of the company. All seven authorized seats on the company's board are now filled.

"We are pleased to welcome Lisa to the Board of Directors," said Stuart Moldaw, Gymboree's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "She brings a lot of talent and industry background to our board and will be very helpful to the company serving in this capacity."

The Gymboree Corporation designs, manufactures and retails unique, igh-quality apparel and accessories for children. As of May 27, 2000, Gymboree operated 603 stores, including 552 stores in the United States, 20 stores in Canada and 31 in Europe, as well as an online store. The company also offers directed parent-child developmental play programs at more than 420 franchised and company-operated centers in the United States and 14 other countries.
