GREAT CLIPS HIRES REGIONAL DIRECTOR FOR TEXAS, CONTINUES EXPANSION IN DALLAS/FORT WORTH MARKETS

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA - (April 12, 1999) - Great Clips, Inc., the nation's fastest growing haircare franchise, recently named Robert J. Schmidt as the new Regional Director of the Texas market, as the value-priced haircare chain is fast becoming the dominant force in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Currently, Great Clips operates 32 salons in the Dallas/Forth Worth market. The value-priced haircare chain anticipates 20 more salons to be open in Dallas and Fort Worth by the end of 1999 and a total of over 100 in the market within the next five years.

Prior to joining Great Clips, Schmidt served as Director of Marketing Distribution, Southwest Region, for AT&T Wireless Services in Dallas, and as Vice President of Sales for the Foster Grant Group, also in Dallas.
