FASTSIGNS On-Line Enhancements Now Make Sign and Graphic Solutions Just a Click Away (6/01)

Even as the Internet becomes a primary tool of choice in communications between businesses and their customers, seeking external web-based consultants is not always the choice of company executives. In franchising, the choice of whom to seek help from, becomes even more vital.

Keeping the customer top of mind while embracing technological changes has always been the focus of FASTSIGNS. Now, with the help of one of their own leading the race to adapt to the changes associated with E-Commerce, that goal is continuing to be met.

With over 27 years of experience in the advertising industry, Willard Moon, formerly the President of Point Communications in Dallas, made a career change when he decided to purchase a FASTSIGNS Franchise in the heart of McAllen, TX. Soon after, his store not only thrived, but Moon became a leader among his peers. In addition to being in an elite group of high volume stores for several years, he served on the Franchisee Advisory Council and was elected National Advertising Council representative for two terms.

Retired since the Summer of 2000 from his FASTSIGNS business, Moon was considered the ideal choice to serve as the E-Commerce Project Director for the FASTSIGNS franchise system. Having experience in a FASTSIGNS store and a solid interest in technology, as well as strong marketing and advertising skills, Moon has been able to put his past experience and his Franchising knowledge to work.

Last Fall, Phase One of the FASTSIGNS E-Commerce program was launched. It focused on making it easier for our current customers to do business with us. Easy file transfers, FTP site access, a store locator, efficient driving directions, and the ability to request quotes on-line were just a few of the upgrades implemented.

Under the direction of Moon, the FASTSIGNS E-Commerce team has recently launched Phase Two - a second customer driven phase which focuses on store web page customization and the implementation of "My Catalog." The "My Catalog" templates on their individual store web pages within the core FASTSIGNS site which enables their customers to log on, click, and order.

Along with Moon, the FASTSIGNS E-Commerce team is made up of FASTSIGNS employees - each bringing their individual expertise, skills and talents to the table. Looking within the organization for help on such factors as IT/MIS, technical support, marketing and field support has aided the team to meet the demands of the franchise network.

Future phases of the E-Commerce website project are currently being developed under the leadership of Moon. His insider's insight into the needs of signage customers has provided value beyond what an outside consultant could have.

According to Moon, "We don't just sell signs," he explains. "We solve visual communications problems and provide solutions. Our goal is to build long-term, supportive relationships with our clients. In future phases of this plan, we will continue to develop ways to bring that kind of depth right into the E-Commerce venue, so that we can extend total service and support to every customer on every project."
