FASTSIGNS® FORMS FIRST FRANCHISEE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (3/00)

FASTSIGNS International, Inc. (formerly American Fastsigns, Inc.) has created a 10-member Franchisee Advisory Committee (FAC) designed to provide the Franchise system with input and guidance in all areas of operations, training, administration and marketing.

Members of the first FAC, who were introduced recently at the company's annual convention in Fort Worth, Texas, were selected by various members of the FASTSIGNS management team. Future FACs will include a mix of appointed and elected members serving staggered terms. The FAC will meet at least twice annually, and will use e-mail, conference calls and other methods to communicate frequently.

"We have always turned to our strategic partners (franchisees) for guidance," said Gary Salomon, founder and President/CEO. "We have had a National Advertising Council (NAC) that has helped direct the way our ad fund is spent for many years. The FAC adds another formalized structure for us to solicit input and feedback, which is important as we continue to grow our system and support our strategic partners (franchisees)."

The committee represents a cross-section of the FASTSIGNS network and includes franchisees new to the system as well as long-time franchisees from all regions of the United States.

FAC members are currently compiling a list if priorities for 2000, which is likely to include e-commerce, benchmarking and information systems, technology assessment and training. Once that process is completed, FAC members will be partnered with managers from corporate to form subcommittees that will address each prioritized topic.

"We expect the FAC to be involved in everything from the review of our marketing position to enhancements to our training programs to helping us find ways to expand our e-commerce capabilities," said Salomon. "We are very excited about the possibilities and program enhancements resulting from working together to better our system."
