Franchise News Release: LAKE CITY, FL - (Aug-18-2005) Ellianos Coffee Company Announces Plans for Expansion in Jacksonville, FLEllianos Coffee Company, one of the Southeast’s fastest growing franchised drive-thru coffee shops, announces plans for expansion in Jacksonville. The Lake City based drive-thru specialty coffee company plans to recruit up to 4 franchisees in the Jacksonville area and add 10 locations in the First Coast area. Ellianos Coffee Company was founded in Lake City, FL in 2002 by businessman and coffee lover Scott Stewart with the help of his wife Pam and their family. The company has grown to a Franchise with 8 locations in North Florida and South Georgia. The company plans an aggressive push to add more stores within the next year. “We want to grow smart,” says Mr. Stewart. “We have found a successful model in a thriving industry and want to share our knowledge with people who have the desire to succeed, but we will not sell a franchise just to sell it. The franchisee has to be a good fit with our company.” Ellianos looks for primarily candidates who want to own and operate their own Ellianos, not just investors who want to take a more “hands off” approach. “With one store already operating in Jacksonville and a high demand for our products and services, we feel the First Coast is a prime location for expansion,” commented Ellianos Marketing Director, Christa Pusateri. Ellianos Coffee Company offers high quality espresso based products as well as premium fruit smoothies and breads and pastries. The company also just released its own branded line of specialty drinks called Ellianos Signature Creations. According to the Specialty Coffee Association of America, the specialty coffee industry sales in the US at year end of 2003 was estimated at $8.96 billion, with almost $1 billion in sales attributed to coffee ‘kiosks’, defined as coffee operations with no customer seating. The National Coffee Associations drinking trend survey found that in 2004 an estimated 56% o the adult population in the United States drink specialty coffee occasionally, while16% dink specialty coffee everyday. With a population of about 1 million in Jacksonville, that is an estimated 160,000 daily specialty coffee drinkers. |
