DWYER GROUP RECEIVES SINGAPORE'S GLOBAL FRANCHISE EXCELLENCE AWARD (10/00)

The Dwyer Group (Nasdaq:DWYR), one of the world's largest multiple-concept franchisors, recently received the Global Franchise Excellence Award, jointly organized by two Singapore government agencies, the Singapore Trade Development Board and the Singapore Productivity and Standards Board, as well as Arthur Andersen Business Consulting and supported by the Singapore International franchise Association. The award, which was given to The Dwyer Group in the Foreign Franchisor category, honored its Mr. Rooter brand for its innovative franchise system and its global appeal.

Donald Dwyer Jr., director of international relations for The Dwyer Group, received the award on behalf of the company at Singapore's "Global 2000" franchise trade show. Dwyer Jr. said, "We've expressed a strong desire to grow our franchising concepts in the Singapore market, and the people have responded greatly. With a Rainbow International franchise and a DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen franchise [an associated company of The Dwyer Group] already in place, we have established a great foundation in the country to introduce more concepts." 

In particular, the popular Mr. Rooter concept is targeted for Dwyer Group expansion in Singapore and was the concept that the Global Franchising Excellence Award highlighted in its naming of The Dwyer Group.
